Home Instead, Inc., the franchiser of the Home Instead Senior Care network, is looking for nominations in their Salute to Senior Service program.  Nominees must be age 65 and older and contribute at least 15 hours a month of volunteer services to their favorite causes.

Home Instead, Inc. will donate $500 to each of the state winner’s favorite nonprofit organization, and their stories will be posted on the Salute to Senior Service Wall of Fame.  In addition, $5,000 will be donated to the national winner’s nonprofit charity of choice.

Senior care professional and those who work at hospitals, senior care facilities, and other places where seniors volunteer, are encouraged to nominate older adults in addition to family caregivers and adult children of aging parents.  Older adults may self-nominate.

Panora Nursing & Rehab Center Activity Director Diane Watts is looking forward to submitting the name of a volunteer who she feels fits the bill in every way.   Watts encourages others to look into this and if they know of anyone they would like to nominate should do so.
