Indianapolis, IN (March 25, 2013) – Thomas Lipovac, Director of Student Activities at Perry Community School District, will be presented the 2013 State Award of Merit by the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association (IHSADA) on March 25, 2013. The award will be presented during the state conference for athletic administrators at the Coralville Marriott, in Coralville, Iowa. This award is provided annually by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), for recognition of meritorious dedication to High School and Middle School Athletics.
Thomas has been the Director of Student Activities at Perry Community School District since 1986. Lipovac received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science at Drake University and has been a member and longtime supporter of the NIAAA for the past 27 years. Lipovac led the securing and generating of funds of over $10 million dollars for construction and equipping several sports and performing art centers. He implemented evaluation tools for teaching standards, implementation of IMPACT testing and performance based development programs that are being utilized in Perry Community School athletic programs. His peers, students and superiors recognize Thomas, as an intricate team player in the classroom as well as on the field. He has been the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association, State Athletic Director of the Year.
