The Spring Valley Retirement Home in Perry had its open house on Sunday.

Marketing Director Maureen Haglund says that they usually don’t put on open houses but she felt that with this past winter season being a struggle for most, families and loved ones might be thinking about a better situation in the future.

There were four families that attended the open house, which Haglund was pleased with.  She comments that she puts on other events throughout the year for the tenants, their families and the public.  In February, Spring Valley invited couples from the public to come in for a luncheon which drew about 57 people.

Other events have been musical groups, senior community meals and the tenants are taken to various towns to eat out.

Haglund strives to give her tenants the possible living situation for everyone who stays with them.
