Early Tuesday morning, a Greene County Deputy responded to a semi-tractor trailer accident on D Avenue and 130th Street.

Sheriff Steve Haupert says the driver, Brandon Hansen of Audubon was traveling northbound on D Avenue when he fell asleep and the 2001 Peterbuilt tractor owned by Tracy Hansen Trucking of Audubon slid on its side into the west ditch.  The semi-tractor was pulling an empty livestock trailer owned by Pork Chop Trucking LLC of Carroll.

Sheriff Haupert states that both the tractor and trailer sustained $20,000 in damages with the heavier amount of damage on the cab of the tractor.

Hansen was unharmed in the accident and was cited for failure to maintain control.
