After 23 years of being the owners of Morrison Chevrolet in Stuart, Connie and Jerry Vitzthum have sold the dealership.
Jason Simpson will be the new owner effective October 15 and is looking forward to providing Stuart and the surrounding areas with the same high quality of sales and services Morrison Chevrolet has provided for the past 83 years. Simpson plans to maintain Morrison’s current employees and in the future plans to hire additional personnel to help meet the needs of the patrons.
For the time being, Morrison’s Chevrolet will continue to operate under the same name and will remain in the current location. Simpson says he’s purchased 10 acres next to AmericInn and hopes to start construction of a new facility soon. Simpson says he plans to change the name of the dealership once the facility is complete and the move has been made. Jerry Vitzthum jokingly says that he kept the Morrison name only because Vitzthum was too hard to spell. Regardless, residents will always refer the dealership as Morrison’s Vitzthum added.
Simpson, who is currently living in Waukee, is not new to the auto sales’ industry, having previously owned a used car dealership. He’s excited in this, his first experience as a new car dealership owner.
Both Jerry and Connie say they hope everyone continues to support Jason and the dealership. They know firsthand that owning and operating a business in a small town is not always easy, but very important to the town’s survival.
