Roland-Story (Story City) defeated Greene County in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball in Jefferson on Sept. 11 in three games. R-S won 25-23, 25-13, 25-18 to improve to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Rams fell to 3-1 in the conference and 6-4 overall after starting the season 4-0.

The Rams had six service errors in game one to just one for R-S. Greene County led the opening game 22-19, but the Norsemen scored six of the final seven points to take the contest. Game two was close at the start with R-S up 9-8 before they went on a big scoring run to win handily. The Norsemen pulled away in the third game as well. After leading 15-14, R-S steadily increased the lead down the stretch to complete the sweep.
