The Perry Bluejay backfield will feature a running back by committee approach this year built around team speed. Ben Daniels, Nic Wilhelmi, Seth Stetzel and Caleb Jans could all see carries throughout the course of the year with Jans primarily used as a wide out. The Perry ground game last year was led by Kane Seeley who averaged closed to 20 carries a game.
“If we would give the ball to our guys (this year) 20-25 times a game, something bad is going to happen, commented Perry Head Coach Jason Olenjzack. “We’re going to spread them out..we have a lot of speed back there with great athletes getting to the edge.”
Perry opens the season Friday at 7:30 at Greene County. Listen to the game on KDLS and KG 98.
