A new school board member will be appointed in the Jefferson-Scranton Community School District Friday.
Business Manager Brenda Muir tells Raccoon Valley Radio news board president Celli Whipple resigned via email on May 23rd, citing personal family issues. The issue was not addressed until the school board meeting on June 13th, and the district must refill the position within 30 days.
Muir says only a few people in the district have expressed interest in being appointed to the board. A decision will be made and a new member appointed during a special board meeting at 4pm Friday. The new member’s term will last until September of 2013.
We will bring you more information on the new appointment as it becomes official.
