Jefferson Man Sentenced to Prison for Burglary

A Jefferson man was sentenced to prison in Greene County District Court for a December incident. According to court documents, 36-year-old Derek Eugene Ott pled guilty to a Class D Felony for third degree burglary and was sentenced to prison for a term not to exceed five years. He was given credit for time already served and his prison sentence is to run concurrently with his other prison sentences in separate cases. The sentence stems from an incident on December […]

Earlier this month, a local youngster outshot the rest of her age group at the Iowa Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Competition. Morgan Crees won the girls 9-year-old division at Grinnell College on Sunday, April 15th. Tyme Boettcher, also from Panora, placed third in the girls 11-year-old division. With springtime in full swing, it’s time once again for the annual Spring Used Book Sale at the Jefferson Public Library. The three-day sale begins this Thursday. Jameson Hired as Warren Cultural Center’s Next Business Manager

On Friday, the Warren Cultural Center officially announced the hiring of a new Business Manager. Hesper Jameson of Greenfield will assume day-to-day operations of the center starting next Monday. Jameson will be responsible for directing an active committee structure, planning programming, and managing events. She will also oversee marketing, volunteers, community relations, and general business management. The 37-year-old is a Nodaway Valley alum who grew up near the opera house. Winterset Man Pleads Guilty to Felony Drug Possession in Greenfield

A Winterset man recently pleaded guilty to felony drug possession in Greenfield. According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old John Lemon of Winterset withdrew a plea of not guilty on Monday, April 16th. He instead pleaded guilty to a Class C felony charge for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver.
