The luminaria lined the interior perimeter of the Guthrie County Fairgrounds’ Event Center Friday evening for the annual Relay For Life of Guthrie County.  The yearly event rallying to find cures for cancer drew a large crowd of cancer survivors and those remembering lost loved ones. The Guthrie Center School Board will meet in regular session tomorrow. The Board will consider the purchase of a new bus and other transportation updates. They will also discuss a soccer sharing agreement with Panorama. A Jefferson man was arrested Sunday, June 10th for outstanding Greene County warrants and for an alleged domestic abuse incident. Waukee Man Receives Deferred Judgement, Placed on Probation for December Incident in Jefferson

A Waukee man received a deferred judgement and was placed on probation for a December incident in Jefferson. According to court documents, 20-year-old Adam James Stilson pled guilty to a Class D Felony for aiding or abetting threatening intimidation with a dangerous weapon. His deferred judgement suspended the prison sentence and he was placed on probation for two years with the Department of Correctional Services. The sentence stems from a December 3, 2017 incident. Stuart Man Charged with Two Felonies for Drug Possession

A Stuart man was arrested recently on felony charges for drug possession. According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Andrew Dean Nelson was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance-3rd or subsequent offense, both Class D felonies. According to the Sheriff’s report, Nelson was involved in an assault earlier this month at a home in Stuart. Gilbert won on their home diamond Friday night. Coach John Hupp’s Rams managed five hits, but no runs.
