Lady Chargers Learning Resiliency in Early Scrimmage

The ACGC girls basketball team played in their first scrimmage of the season against Exira-EHK last Thursday. The Lady Chargers are already showing that no lead is too large, turning an 18-0 hole into a 35-36 result at the end of the scrimmage. Head Coach Aaron Dose had to call two timeouts in the first portion of the scrimmage and was able to settle the team down and refocus their attention on defensive efforts. Buena Vista University (Storm Lake) senior receiver TJ Lint is a first team all-conference football selection in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Lint played for East Greene, then Greene County when in high school. He closed out a standout career with his first all-conference selection. The Beavers were 2-6 in conference play and 3-7 overall. The decorated collegiate football career of Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers graduate Jordan Grove came to an end Saturday in the state of Ohio. Grove, a fifth-year senior fullback/tight end for the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats, began his final playoff run in Ashland, Ohio versus the Ashland University Eagles. Greene County Supervisors to Discuss TIF Projects

The Greene County Board of Supervisors will meet today. The Board will consider for approval a real estate contract for purchase of property in Paton and the County Treasurer’s investment and driver’s license report for October. Additionally, the Board will discuss tax increment financing projects with Greene County Development Corporation and hear a 2019 fiscal year funding request from Elderbridge Agency on Aging. The meeting will be at 8:30am in the boardroom of the courthouse in Jefferson.

Panorama Schools Participating in Meals From the Heartland Event Wednesday

Thursday is Thanksgiving. However, Panorama School District students will get a head start on serving the meals. The district will help the hungry by packaging meals on Wednesday with Meals from the Heartland. The school raised $5,000 in order to have the funds to package 50,000 meals.
