A public fundraising campaign recently kicked off to build a new animal shelter in Greene County. Facilitator Don Orris says he and the steering committee are looking to raise over $1.1 million to build a new animal shelter in Jefferson at the Greene County Development Corporation’s west business park. Guthrie Center City Council Sets Public Hearing for Budget Amendment

The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday. The Council set the date for a public hearing on proposed amendments to the 2017-2018 fiscal year budget. The Council set the hearing for Monday, May 14th at 6:30pm. They also accepted bids for the property at 905 Grand St. The City received two bids and approved Steve Bascom’s high bid of $510. An annual fundraiser for a local crisis pregnancy center is coming up next month. The Lc (Lifecare) Clinic in Stuart will be hosting their annual fundraising banquet on Tuesday, May 10th at the Stuart All Saints Center. Perry Boys Track Enjoys Solid Night at Wildcat Relays

The Perry boys track team turned in one of their best performances of the season Tuesday night in Carlisle at the Wildcat Relays.  Perry enjoyed 9 individual personal best times to go along with 2 season best times in the relays.  Kato Dougan, Reece Dunlap and Brandon Kenyon were part of a season best time 1:37.72 in the sprint medley to place 2nd.  Official results will be available later this morning.
