The Council approved annual appropriations for three development agreements for tax increment financing rebate payments to be made to the developers. One was for Lincoln Ridge Estates for $43,000. 20th Annual Jefferson Rotary Auction Raises Over $35,000

Over $35,000 was raised at the 20th Annual Jefferson Rotary Dinner and Auction fundraiser this past Friday at the Greene Room events center of Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. The margin of victory narrowed, but didn’t change for one race in Greene County, following a special committee that reviewed a set of ballots following last Tuesday’s general election. Deputy County Auditor Billie Hoskins presented the Absentee Voter Special Precinct Committee one absentee ballot and four provisional ballots to review. Weekly Crop Report Shows Corn and Soybeans Over Three Days Behind Average

Iowa farmers had four days of suitable fieldwork this past week as temperatures dipped below normal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s weekly crop report. For this year’s harvest progress, 83% of the state’s corn has been harvested, three days behind the five-year average. Soybean harvest is 94% complete, three days behind last year, and four days behind the average. Guthrie Activity Center On Its Way to Renovation Thanks to Main Street Grant

Main Street Guthrie Center recently received a major boost in funding for a downtown renovation project. Main Street Iowa awarded a 2018 Bricks and Mortar Challenge Grant of $70,000 for the Guthrie Activity Center renovation project.
