There will be two Memorial Day services held in Jefferson on Monday, May 27.

A service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery will begin at 9:30 a.m. There will be a Salute to Our Fallen Heroes program with a joint firing squad from the Jefferson VFW and the American Legion, followed by the playing of Taps.

A service at Jefferson Municipal Cemetery will begin at 10:45 a.m. The emcee will be American Legion Post #11 Commander Phil Thompson. The Greene County High School Band will take part in the ceremonies along with the Jefferson Fire Department, VFW and American Legion. Flag essay winner Addison Gannon will read her essay followed by an address from Micah Rasmussen.

Both services are free and open to the public.
