The Churdan Adult Activity Club will meet Tuesday, October 17 at the Churdan Community Room for a potluck meal at noon. Everyone is invited to come at 10:30am for games and fellowship. This is a no dues group that meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month for good fun, food and fellowship.

The First United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center will host it’s annual harvest dinner tonight from 5 pm to 7 pm. Cost is a free will donation. The menu includes: roast pork and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salads, rolls, pies, desserts and beverages. The Linden United Methodist Church will host a Harvest Supper and Country Store, today from 5 pm to 7 pm. A free book talk will be held in the Perry Performing Arts Center, featuring A Wrestling Life 2 with author Dan Gable, at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, followed by a book-signing. Books are available at the library for $10 each, or you may purchase one from Beaverdale Books at their price on the night of the event. Prior to the book talk, a ticketed Meet & Greet Reception is scheduled for 5:30-6:30 p.m., at Hotel Pattee, a great opportunity to meet and talk to Dan. The Friends of the Perry Public Library will hold their fall book sale, Friday and Saturday, October 20-21, in the library large meeting room, from 10:00 to 4:00 on Friday, and 10:00 to 2:00 on Saturday. A variety of books, audio books, movies, music, and more will be sold at bargain prices. First come, first served! All proceeds benefit Perry Public Library’s programs and services.
The Panorama Booster Club will host a Trick or Treat Night for all kids, on Friday, October 20th before the Football Game. Candy and Treats will be handed out, and all kids in Costume will receive free admission to the Football Game. The Panora Fire Department is hosting their annual Haunted Tower of Terror starting Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22nd from 7-11 p.m. The tower will also be open Friday, October 27, Saturday, October 28, and Tuesday, October 31 during the same times. Admission is $10 per person and children 13 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.

A Greene County Freedom Rock Fundraiser will be held tonight at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson from 5 pm to 7 pm. A meal will include: Chili or chicken noodle soup, sandwiches, cookies and drink. Cost is a free will offering. The event is sponsored by the Freedom Rock Committee.
The Greene County Chamber of Commerce is hosting Trick or Treat around the Square on Thursday, October 26, in Jefferson. The fun starts with the Greene County Community Center Halloween Party from 4 to 5 p.m. Children can go Trick or Treat at Jefferson businesses from 5 to 6 p.m. Stop by the Jefferson Library from 5 to 7 p.m. for skits in the library basement along with treats and trinkets. Kids hour will be from 5 to 7 featuring a trail walk, smores, and pumpkins. Adult hours are from 8 to 11 and include a haunted trail walk, smores, and a movie. Cost is $5 for kids and $10 for adults.
The 45th Annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction will be held this morning from 6 am to 11 am at the Jefferson Elks Lodge.
