Spring Book Sale in Jefferson
Apr 27 @ 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Friends of the Jefferson Public Library will have a Spring Book Sale for 3 days only.  It will be held at the Jefferson Public Library Basement on Thursday, April 26th from 11 am to 8 pm, Friday, April 27th from 1 pm to 5:30 pm and Saturday, April 28th from 9 am to 1 pm.  Books and DVD’s will be available for all ages.  Admission is free.

Adair County 4-H and FFA Lamb and Goat Weigh-in
Apr 28 @ 8:30 am – 10:30 am

All Adair County 4-H and FFA market lamb and market goat exhibitors must weigh and tag their animals at a countywide weigh-in, today from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Adair County Fairgrounds in Greenfield.  Official ear tags are $1.50 each and must be purchased at weigh-in.  Contact Adair County Extension at 641-743-8412 for more information.

Breakfast Benefit in Guthrie Center

A free will offering Breakfast Benefit and Silent Auction in support of Finley Jesko and Morgan Sheeder of Guthrie Center will be held at the Guthrie Activity Center, 209 State Street in Guthrie Center, today from 8 am to 1 pm.  Bacon, eggs, pancakes and drinks will be served.

Plowing Match Dinner

There will be a Plowing Match Dinner at the Dexter Roundhouse on Sunday, April 29th, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. They will serve Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Seasoned Corn, Hot Rolls, Apple Pie with Cheese and Coffee, Tea Lemonade or Water to Drink. Guthrie County Swim Club Meeting

The Guthrie County Swim Club will hold a informational and sign up meeting today at the AC/GC High School Commons Area from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.  Everyone in the Guthrie County area is welcome.  Learn about the club, upcoming season and sign up to be a part of the organization.

Gustafsons in Ogden

The Gustafsons will be in Ogden this evening at the American Legion/McGraw Center at 241 West Walnut Street from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  It is open to the public.  Bring food to share and coffee and lemonade will be provided.  A free will offering will be taken.

Ladies Day Out in Perry
May 1 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

All women around Perry are invited to attend the “Ladies Day Out Salad and Luncheon”, today at noon.  Reservations must be in by April 22nd to Marilyn Pentico at 465-3162.  The luncheon will include:  Ham balls, lots of salads, homemade rolls, and dessert for $9.  It will be held at the Perry United Methodist Church.  The program is “Music is the Wave of the Soul”, by Maurice Jules, from Boxholm, Iowa.

The Perry Wednesday Fellowship will be meeting today at 11 am at the Perry McCreary Center.  Midge Vanetta will be playing the piano.  Dinner will be at noon.

Community Conversations in Jefferson
May 3 @ 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm

The Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson will host Community Conversations this evening at 5:30 pm.  Kyle Kinne, Greene County School and Special Needs Counselor will be the featured guest.  Topic will be problems facing children in Greene County.  There will be snacks available starting at 5 pm.

Perry Public Library Exhibit Blast Off
May 4 @ 6:00 pm

The Perry Public Library will hold Exhibit Blast Off at the Library on Friday May 4th, at 6:00 pm. Participants will learn about Space, Science, and Astronomy, and be able to construct their own virtual solar system, and give a Planetary Report using a Green Screen.

Safety Bike Rodeo
May 5 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

The inaugural Safety Bike Rodeo will be held Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. until noon in the Adel City Hall Parking Lot. The event is for children ages five to eight years old and is designed to promote safe bicycle riding habits and to reduce accidents involving children. Dallas County Toddler Fest
May 5 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Dallas County Toddler Fest will be held on Saturday, May 5th, from 10:00 am to noon, at the Dallas County Fairgrounds. Blank Park Zoo will be there, and there will also be Super Heroes, Balloon Creations, Crafts and Activities, Princesses and Farm Animals. This event is free and open to the public.

Dewey Field Renovation Fundraiser
May 5 @ 6:00 pm

There will be a Fundraiser on Saturday May 5th, 6:00 pm at the Hotel Pattee for the Dewey Field Renovation project. There will be Music, Games, and both Silent and Live Auctions. Wine Walk in Winterset
May 12 @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The Winterset Wine Walk will take place today form 4 pm to 7 pm on the Courthouse Square in Winterset.  Enjoy Madison County wines as you shop, sip and sample!  Tickets are $20 and include commemorative wine glass, plus $5 coupon toward purchase of a featured bottle of wine.  Enjoy live music, a car show, and search for 3 golden wine bottles to win a prize.  Tickets are available at the Madison County Chamber of Commerce

10 Squared Women Meeting at Lake Panorama

Dallas County Sheriff’s All Wheel Car Show

The 10th annual Dallas County Sheriff’s All Wheel Car Show will be held on Saturday June 2nd, on the Square in downtown Adel. Cost to enter is $20 per Car and $10 for every additional Car  from the same Owner, or $20 the day of the show. All pre-registrations will receive a free T-Shirt and are due by May 25th.
