After School Snack

The Perry Public Library After School Snack program will continue again this year. Free Nutritious Snacks will be offered to all School aged children from 3:30 to 4:15 pm weekdays, and from 2:30 to 3:15 pm on early out Wednesdays. For more information call Suzanne at the Library at 515/465-3569.

Christmas Story Hour in Scranton
Dec 12 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The Merchant Memorial Scranton Library will host a Christmas Story Hour on Wednesday, December 12th at 3 pm. They will have a Christmas story and make Christmas crafts and play games. The kids will aso decorate a Christmas cookie. All ages are welcome.

Animal Protection Dinner in Boone
Dec 13 @ 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

A Animale Protection and Education Charity Benefit Dinner to support a new Boone County location, will be held Thursday, December 13th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Adobe Lounge in Boone. A Spay-ghetti and No Balls Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction will cost $10 for all you can eat, $7 for a single adult plate and kids 10 and under the cost is $4. Take outs are available.

Audubon Christmas Bird Count
Dec 14 @ 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Audubon Christmas Bird Count will be on Friday, December 14th, at Springbrook State Park. There will be early morning Owling and Birding in pre-arranged ares in the park. Meet at the Park Office at 7:00 am. Lunch will be at PJ’s in Panora at 11:30, then return to Springbrook Park at 5:00 for Chili and to compare notes. Cookie Walk in Perry

There will be a Cookie Walk at the Perry Lutheran Home on Saturday, December 15th from 9 am to noon. Sponsored by the Christ Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. For more information call Geneen Tibben at 515-520-1815.

iJag Cookie Walk in Perry
Dec 15 @ 9:00 am – 11:30 am

The 6th annual iJag Cookie Walk will be held Saturday, December 15th from 9 am to 11:30 am at the Perry high School Commons. Cost is $12 a pound, which will consist of cookies, candy, bread and special holiday snacks. Find your favorite homemade treats made by iJAG students and local bakers. Live Nativity in Guthrie Center
Dec 16 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

A free Live Nativity performance with characters and animals from the Christian and Presbyterian churches will be held Sunday, December 16th at 5 pm at the Guthrie Livestock in Guthrie Center. Come and join in singing and the story of Jesus. Please bring canned goods to help out the local food pantry.

Community Christmas Dinner
Dec 25 @ 11:00 am – 1:30 pm

There will be a Community Christmas Dinner at the Perry Elks Lodge, on Christmas Day from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. Volunteers are needed to work one of two, or both shifts. The first shift is from 9:30 to noon and the 2nd is from noon to 2:30. Donations will also be taken and can be dropped off at the Elk’s Lodge starting at 9:00 am Christmas Eve. Annual Pet Licensing in Perry
Jan 30 all-day

Pet owners within the Perry city limits with cats and dogs over 6 months of age must obtain or renew their annual pet license by January 31st of each year. Licenses expire on December 31st of each year. Licenses may be obtained at the McCreary Community Building. The fee is $5 for altered animals and $20 for non-altered animals. Owners mus show proof of rabies vaccination. Yearly passes for the Perry Dog Park are also available. For more information call the McCreary Community Building at 515-465-5621.
