A vehicle was destroyed by an early Friday morning fire in Perry.
Perry Fire Chief Chris Hinds tells Raccoon Valley Radio the incident happened at 1:57am on Friday at 2506 Perry Park Avenue. Hinds says when they arrived on scene, a 2010 Chrysler Minivan was fully engulfed in flames. He points out no one was hurt in the incident and when fire crews put out the flames, it appeared the fire started in the rear of the vehicle as the van was considered to be a total loss.
Hinds notes while the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, the incident is believed to be accidental in nature and the vehicle belonged to Berta Majin-Cruz of Ottumwa.
The Perry Police Department assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
