One person is dead after a vehicle rollover in Adair County late Tuesday night.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at about 11:23 p.m. 52-year-old Jaspal Singh of Sacramento, California was driving a semi freightliner eastbound on Interstate 80 near mile marker 74. For an unknown reason the semi swerved off the road and entered the south ditch, and rolled before coming to a rest. Jaspal was transported by Adair County Emergency Medical Services to Iowa Methodist Medical Center for treatment of injuries. A passenger, 26-year-old Jagjit Singh of Madera, California, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and was declared deceased at the scene. He was transported by Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Homes to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office and Adair Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene, and the crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
