It’s been awhile since a Greene County High School wrestling team faced the number one ranked team in Class 2A, but that’s the task facing first year head coach Zach Beekman and the Rams tonight. They’ll meet top ranked PCM in Monroe in the second dual meet of the night. The Rams take on South Hamilton (Jewell) at 6 p.m. to begin the evening.

Greene County has a 13-7 dual meet record and is 2-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference duals. PCM is 2-0 in the conference and 11-5 overall, while SH is 4-9 on the season and 1-1 in the league. The Mustangs have six wrestlers ranked in the Class 2A top 10 in their respective weight classes by The Predicament. Those six have a combined record of 122-17. The Rams and Hawks do not have any top 10 rated wrestlers.

Leading the Rams in winning percentage is senior Brock Wuebker (170) with a 16-1 record. Senior Bryce Hoyle (195) is 4-1 and senior Clint Dennhardt (182) is 15-3. Other top records belong to junior Will Hansen (145) 22-5, freshman Brenner Gallagher (106) 18-5, sophomore Brady Stauffer (132) 22-7, and sophomore Sawyer Schiltz (220) 12-5.

After tonight, the Rams wrestle on Saturday at the South Hardin Tournament in Eldora.
