acgcThe ACGC basketball teams will make the short trip to Panora tonight for a Guthrie County showdown against the Panorama Panthers. The Panthers swept the Chargers in Guthrie Center last month, with the girls winning 68-30 and the boys topping the gold and black 62-48.

In the girls game, the Beckman sisters had a combined 41 points to lead the Panthers. The Panthers come into tonight’s contest undefeated against Class 2A opponents, with their only loss coming against Class 3A’s Des Moines Christian in West Central Activities Conference play. In the loss, ACGC senior Jadeyn Carrick led all Chargers with seven points, while classmate Genevieve Hoover and sophomore Kylie Young each had six.

On the boys side, both squads find themselves in the bottom half of the conference. Panorama is 4-6 this season in WCAC play, though four of those six losses have been within ten points. Sophomore Zach Rizzuti led the Panthers in the win over the Chargers with 25 points, while junior Kolby Shackelford chipped in 14. ACGC juniors Quynton Younker and Bryce Littler contributed 29 of the Chargers’ 48 points in the setback.

The double was initially scheduled for tomorrow night, but was moved up due to this weekend’s impending snow storm. You can hear the doubleheader live on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com. Pre-game coverage begins at 5:45pm with tip-off set for 6pm from Panorama High School in Panora.
