acgcFor the second time this season, in a girls basketball game featuring Ogden and ACGC, one team had an 11-point lead going into the fourth quarter. For the second straight time that team saw the lead evaporate. Unfortunately for the Chargers, unlike their December meeting in Ogden, the Bulldogs were the team that trailed at the end of three and the team that stormed back to get a 41-40 win in Guthrie Center Tuesday.

The Chargers held a 32-21 lead going into the fourth, but clutch three-pointers by Meredith Adreon, Abby Langel, and Faith Mohr helped the Bulldogs outscore the gold and black 20-8 in the final eight minutes. Langel and Adreon each finished with eleven points to lead the Bulldogs, while ACGC senior Jadeyn Carrick had twelve to lead all scores. It was a brutal second half for the Chargers as several players were competing through varying degrees of injury. Most notably, senior Genevieve Hoover was sidelined for the entire second half with an ankle/knee injury.

In the boys contest, the Chargers held a 29-25 lead at the end of the first half, thanks in part to some stingy defense and a couple three-pointers by senior Noah Sargent. But Ogden senior Ben Heeren turned on the jets in the second half, scoring 30 of his team high 38 points in the last two quarters. The Bulldogs outscored the Chargers in the second half by a 56-21 margin to take the sweep, 81-50. Bryce Littler led all Chargers with eleven.

The girls drop to 8-7 (6-5) and the boys fall to 4-10 (2-9). Both squads will have a quick turnaround as they head to Panora tomorrow for a doubleheader with the Panthers.
