The grant application deadline is approaching for Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation.

Any competitive grants that are $35,000 or more can be applied for, with funds through the non-profit gaming license holder for Wild Rose Casino and Resorts of Jefferson. Last year GGCGC awarded $1.2 million, and in its three years they’ve given over $3.5 million in grants. Last year competitive grant funds went to five local projects including: Jefferson Matters: Main Street for the Arch Alley project, the City of Rippey to repurpose a gym into a new fire station, the City of Paton to install a walking trail, the City of Scranton for a shelter house at the new city park, and Jefferson Parks and Recreation to install a new gym floor at the Greene County Community Center.

The deadline to submit grant applications is February 14th. A copy of the application, as well as guidelines, can be found on their website at growgreenecounty.org. The awards ceremony will be April 1st.
