ACGC WrestlingThe ACGC wrestling team wrapped up another dual campaign Tuesday with a quadrangular at Woodward-Granger. The Chargers finished with an overall record of 1-2 on the night.

The lone win for the gold and black came decisively over Baxter, 65-6. The Chargers picked up eight forfeits, two pin falls, and one technical fall in the victory. Cale Rowley (126) and Easton Benson (138) both collected pins inside a minute, while the technical fall went in favor of Gabe Rowley (145), scoring 17-2 over Baxter’s Austin Good.

The two setbacks, one each to South Central Calhoun and Woodward-Granger, were by a combined nine points. The Chargers fell to the SCC Titans, 42-43. Seven grapplers on each side recorded a win by forfeit or pin. The Titans were granted a tiebreaking 43rd point as they secured more near fall points than the Chargers.

The host Hawks bested the gold and black for the second time this season, edging the Chargers 42-34. The Chargers dominated the lighter weight classes, winning every bout between 113-145 pounds by fall or decision. However, the Hawks flipped the table with wins in each weight class from 152-285, with the exception of 195.

Those going undefeated for the gold and black in the final dual competition of the season include: Seth Danker (113), Blaine Beeler (120), Cale Rowley (126), Gunnar Larsen (132), Gabe Rowley (145), and Ben Kingery (195). At this time, the Chargers are still scheduled to participate in the John Jay Invitational in Corning starting tomorrow afternoon. This will be the final tuneup before the annual Charger Invitational next Saturday in Guthrie Center. ACGC finishes the dual portion of the regular season at 16-8.
