ACGC WrestlingThe ACGC wrestling team will brave the elements this afternoon as they participate in the John J Harris Invitational in Corning. The invitational, which is initially a two-day competition, was condensed to one day due to this weekend’s inclement weather.

Senior Blaine Beeler (120) advanced to the championship round in Corning last year. After receiving a bye in the first round, Beeler recorded three consecutive pin falls to reach the title bout. Beeler ran out of gas during the championship, as he was blanked 10-0 by Winterset’s Bryce Hatten. Classmates Easton Benson, Gabe Rowley, and Ben Kingery also participated in the invitational. The Chargers finished in 16th place out of 23 schools with a total of 33 points. Missouri Valley won the team title with a commanding 230.5 points.

According to their official tournament site on TrackWrestling, other participating schools include: Atlantic, Bedford-Lenox, Clarinda Academy, Clarinda, Creston-Orient-Macksburg, East Mills, Griswold, Missouri Valley, Mt. Ayr, Nodaway Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, Southwest Valley, Tri-Center, and Winterset. First bouts begin at noon from Southwest Valley High School in Corning.
