A conscious improvement on the defensive end led the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls basketball team to their 10th victory of the season Friday night. The Tigers hosted the defending Raccoon River Conference champion the Boone Toreadors for their first league meeting of the winter. Sophomore Grace Hardcastle scored a career-high 15 points, leading ADM to a 48-43 victory over the Boone Toreadors. The Tigers, who allowed 40 points in the paint in Tuesday loss to Pella, allowed 14 points in the key against the Toreadors. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network counted nine steals recorded by the ADM defense. The win improves ADM’s overall record to 10-4, tallying double-digit wins for the first time since winning 13 games during the 2015-16 season. The ADM boys basketball team lost the nightcap against Boone, 57-52. We’ll recap that contest on Monday’s local sports page.
