Thursday night proved to be a tough evening for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity basketball teams in Huxley. The Ballard Bombers hosted the Tigers in their second annual meeting of this winter. ADM returned to Dallas County with a pair of losses. The ADM girls basketball team dropped to second in the Raccoon River Conference standings with a 47-32 loss against Class 4A’s No. 13 rated Bombers. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network observed 26 turnovers for the Tigers against Ballard. Junior Abbie Hlas led ADM in scoring with 10 points, while senior Anna Kenny poured in nine in the setback. The loss drops ADM’s conference record to 6-2 and their overall mark to 10-6.

The ADM boys basketball team lost another late lead on their way to a 63-61 double-overtime loss against Ballard. The Tigers boys basketball team scored 13 total points in the fourth quarter and the overtime periods. ADM held a 48-42 lead entering the final eight minutes of regulation. Sophomore Nate Mueller led ADM in scoring with 20 points, while junior Nate Conrad posted 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the setback. The loss is the fourth straight for the Tiger boys basketball team, falling to 7-6 overall. The ADM basketball teams resume their season Tuesday night at home against the Winterset Huskies.
