acgcThe ACGC boys basketball team will already enter 2019 with their most wins in a regular season. They’ll look to increase that win total in the new year, starting with Woodward-Granger on Friday.

Head coach Lance Kading pointed out rebounding and turnovers as two key areas the Chargers will have to improve on to stay competitive in the West Central Activities Conference. The gold and black are third in the conference in rebounding, averaging nearly 33 per contest. However, the Chargers are also in the top three in turnovers, averaging just over 15 per game. Though Interstate-35 and West Central Valley do not have an amount reported according to Quickstats.

Nevertheless, if ACGC can improve on those two key components, Kading believes the squad can close the gap in the conference standings. “We got some more non-conference games that should be competitive. Look to get a few more wins hopefully there and the second time around the conference hope to sneak up on some people. We want to get better and have a chance at most if not all the games we’re in.”

The Chargers, who enter 2019 at 4-5, will close out the first half of their conference tour hosting the Hawks. You can hear that game live, immediately following the girls, on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
