An Ankeny woman has been given a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to a drug offense in Guthrie County.

According to court records, 32-year-old Whitney Lynn Muhlenburg was convicted by Judge Michael Jacobsen Monday of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine – no more than five grams, a class C felony. She had her ten year prison sentence suspended and was ordered to be placed on probation for three years. Muhlenburg must also undergo substance abuse evaluation and cooperate with treatment. A $1,000 fine and 35% statutory surcharge have been suspended. Muhlenburg is also ordered to pay all restitution and court costs, and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. All other charges have been dismissed.

This conviction stems from a July 28th incident in which a narcotics investigation was conducted into Muhlenburg and a Guthrie County Sheriff’s deputy arranged a purchase of methamphetamine from her at the Hometown Foods parking lot in Guthrie Center.
