Three special elections are taking place in parts of Guthrie County today.

Two elections are being held to elect trustees for the Rural Improvement Zones (RIZ) at Lake Panorama and Diamondhead Lake. Larry Petersen and Ronald Baiotto are both running unopposed for three-year terms as trustees for the Lake Panorama RIZ and Diamondhead Lake RIZ, respectively. Polls will be open from noon until 8 p.m. at the Lake Panorama Administration Office and at the Long Branch Maintenance Corporation respectively.

The third special election is happening for residents in the Coon Rapids-Bayard School District. The election is to adopt a measure that would change the election of the district Board of Directors from electing seven directors as residents of six director districts and one director at-large to a method in which all seven would be elected to serve at-large for the entire school district. Polls will be open for Bayard residents from noon until 8 p.m. at the Bayard Public Library. For more information on the three elections you can contact the Guthrie County Auditor’s Office at 641-747-3619.
