A high scoring Gilbert boys’ basketball team visits the middle school gym in Jefferson tonight to face a Greene County Rams team that is without its leading scorer. The Tigers are 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play and they’ve put up 79 and 86 points in their two games. Junior Ben Ockey leads his team in scoring at 22.5 points per game.

Greene County is 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the league and still averages 71 points a game, even with the 79-47 loss in Jewell last Friday vs. Class 2A number 5 South Hamilton. Senior Trey Hinote averaged 27 points in the first two games, but will be missing some time due to a severely sprained ankle early in the game in Jewell.

It’s a girl/boy doubleheader tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 o’clock and the boys to follow.
