Greene County High School’s girls’ basketball team is 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. The longest road trip of the season awaits tonight when the Rams play a girl/boy doubleheader in Monroe vs. PCM. The Mustangs are 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the league.

First year head coach Tyler Westhoff is looking for better starts from his team on both offense and defense. The Rams have scored just 14 combined points in five first quarters this season, while they’ve allowed opponents 84 points in those same five quarters.

PCM has used pressure defenses effectively in recent seasons vs. the Rams, who are coming off a 28 turnover night on Friday at home in a 76-13 loss to Class 3A number one ranked North Polk (Alleman). Coach Westhoff is looking for his team to handle the pressure better, and score more points.

Coverage on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
