It’s Greene County taking its longest basketball trip of the season when the Rams go to Monroe to face Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rival PCM. The action on KGRA 98.9FM begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.

Coach Chris Nelson’s boys’ team is 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference while the Mustangs are 2-2 overall and 2-2 in league play. Coach Nelson visited with Raccoon Valley Radio about PCM, a team with several players off the recent Class 2A football State title team. “They’re a physical team that’s extremely well coached, and they have been well coached for many years. Coach Lorentzen does a great job. It’s a team that will run when the opportunity presents itself, but they will be physical.”

Greene County is shooting 75% as a team from the free throw line in its first five games. It’s possible foul shot attempts could be a factor.
