The Democrat candidate who lost to the Republican incumbent for the US Congressional 4th District seat is stopping in Jefferson later today.

JD Scholten from Sioux City is doing a “Thank You” tour of all of the counties in the 4th Congressional District and he will be at the Casa De Oro in Jefferson around 2pm. According to the Iowa Secretary of State’s election website, the unofficial results from last Tuesday’s general election showed that Republican Steve King defeated the Democrat challenger by over 11,000 votes.

The event is free and open to the public.
