A number of good football players return for the Greene County Rams next season, but some were seniors during the Rams’ 8-2 season, which saw them go from 1-8 each of the last two years to 8-1 in the regular season and qualify for the Class 2A playoffs.

Head Coach Mitch Moore talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about one of the seniors. “How do you replace Bryce Hoyle? He’s probably the best guy I’ve seen coming off the ball in a long time in high school football. He’s not 6′ 5″ and 240 lbs. and he isn’t going to the University of Iowa and play football. Boy, he gets off the football as well as anyone in this state and you’ve got to replace a kid like that. And, you take away the intangibles he brings with leadership, and those are voids we’ve got to foster and build in this program going forward.”

Hoyle was not only an Elite All-District defensive lineman in District 9, but named the Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the district at 5′ 9″, 210 lbs.
