The Raccoon River Conference appears to be on the verge of expanding for the 2020 school year as another school gave its approval to the addition of two new schools joining. Perry expressed their support Monday night at their regular school board meeting for the addition of both North Polk and Gilbert starting in the year 2020. The Comets and Tigers currently compete in the Heart of Iowa. The motion still needs approval by three other existing schools in the Raccoon River conference for the measure of expansion to pass.
The Heart of Iowa conference appears to be in a state of flux with the potential loss of two of its core schools. Greene County is an area team that belongs in the Heart of Iowa.
