Jefferson Matters: Main Street

Jefferson Matters: Main Street is currently in the middle of their annual Investment Drive.

Program Director Peg Raney says in 2018 alone, there was over $1.7 million in improvements to the historic downtown district,  as well as over 60 volunteers who put in over 6,800 hours toward several projects. “If you like what you see happening in our Main Street District, we had 51 projects going on in 2018. We’re aiming higher, that’s our theme, ‘We Aim Higher.’ We’re hoping for 20-percent more than what we’ve had so we can build our budget even higher to do all of these projects in a great way for our community.”

The five committees are working on their projects for 2019. Raney points out that there are no levels or membership that they are offering. Individuals, organizations and businesses are encouraged to make donations to become investors with JMMS. All donations are tax-deductible.
