A high-speed chase that started in the City of Carroll ended in western Greene County on Tuesday.

Carroll Police Chief Brad Burke confirmed to Raccoon Valley Radio that Carroll Police Officers responded to a call at 11:41am that Josh Black of Carroll had allegedly brandished a knife during a domestic dispute in the 500 block of East 18th Street. When officers arrived on scene, Black fled in a Chevrolet Impala and led authorities on a chase that eventually entered into Greene County on Highway 30.

The chase reached speeds of over 100-miles-per-hour and Burke said Black failed to make a turn off of the highway onto C Avenue. Black’s Impala entered a cornfield north of the highway. The suspect then fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later by authorities.

Black faces aggravated misdemeanor charges of domestic abuse assault while displaying a weapon and eluding and simple misdemeanors for interference with official acts, driving without a license, speeding, failure to maintain control and reckless driving. Black was booked and remains in the Carroll County Jail under a $6,000 bond.

Carroll and Greene County Sheriff’s offices assisted with the chase.
