petsTomorrow there is an opportunity in Jefferson to have a photo taken of your pet and Santa Claus.

The Animal Protection and Education (APE) Charity is hosting a Santa Paws event at the Greene County Community Center from 1 to 3pm on Saturday. For $20 you can have your pet’s photo taken with Santa and then the photo will be emailed to you to print at any location. All proceeds from the event will go back to APE’s continued mission of providing low cost spay/neuter clinics, along with microchipping pets in the community.

APE Director Linn Cipperley-Price is also asking for donations for a permanent location in Greene County, while also continuing to provide their mobile programs in the rural areas of the county. Cipperley-Price says the building will serve as an office and clinic location and will house their low-cost spay and neuter clinics, as well as annual immunizations, exams and microchipping for pets. She is seeking $100 donations, but will also accept any other monetary donation. Checks can be made payable to APE and can be mailed to Animal Protection and Education at P.O. Box 65 in Paton, IA 50217. Click the link below for further information on how to donate.
