Dallas Supervisors 8-7

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors will convene Tuesday morning and afternoon in regular session.

The morning portion of the meeting will begin with discussion and possible action regarding a right-of-way purchase in Adel, as well as a skid steer mower purchase request. At 9:45 a.m. there will be the first of two public hearings of the day, which will be regarding a budget amendment for fiscal year 2019. The second hearing will be at 10, and will focus on a potential temporary construction easement on land adjacent to the Raccoon River Valley Trail for Tyson Foods in Perry.

Other items on the first part of the agenda include: setting time and date for a public hearing on the first reading to re-codify the Dallas County code of ordinances; an appointment to the County Board of Health; a 28E agreement and bylaw amendments with the Metropolitan Planning Organization; and possible discussion on the service coordinator position for area 1A of the Healthcare Coalition. The first portion of the meeting will conclude with an exempt session to conduct negotiations strategy, followed by a closed session to discuss purchase of real estate.

After a recess, the Board will reconvene to canvass last Tuesday’s general election, which includes receipt of the post election audit certificate. Following the canvass, the election results for Dallas County will be official. The first part of the meeting will start at 9 a.m., with the second at 1 p.m. Both sessions are open to the public and will be held in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in downtown Adel.
