Dallas County Public Health

Dallas County Public Health has long emphasized the importance of clean drinking water, and now they’re offering help for those who get their water from a well source in making sure it’s safe for consumption.

Public Health is offering grant money for people to test their private well water for an assortment of contaminants. They identify coliform bacteria, arsenic, and element nitrogen as just three risky things that can be found frequently in well systems. Those interested in finding out if their wells are clean can get a free inspection from the Dallas County Health Department. The water will be tested at the State Hygienic Laboratory, and the results will be sent by mail to the homeowners in about a week.

In the event contaminants are found, Public Health will guide you through the process of making your water safe to drink, and assist financially through the grant program.
