Backwards Boutique Ribbon Cutting 1

A large group of people gathered in the newest addition to downtown Perry Friday morning, to welcome Backwards Boutique to the Perry Chamber of Commerce with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Store owners Emily and Dan Leslie held a soft opening last Saturday during Art on the Prairie, but yesterday was their grand opening and many came out to both celebrate and shop. The shop currently houses an assortment of trendy women’s clothing, though Emily said they will start offering tuxedo rentals starting in January. Attendees were able to look around at the wares while helping themselves to refreshments, then everyone gathered in front of the counter for a photo opportunity. Dan had the privilege of wielding the giant Chamber scissors to cut the ribbon, and then Emily shared a few words for the attendees.

Both said they were thrilled with the turnout and support they’ve received since opening last week. Emily also mentioned that their website is now live and people can shop online, but emphasized that there are several offerings only offered in the store because they want people to shop in person.
