The player with the most three-point shots made from last year’s Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls basketball wants to rewrite one of her older sisters recent records this winter. Senior Emma Jacobsen shared with the Raccoon Valley Radio Network the previous winter that she’d like to top 43 treys set by 2016 graduate Molly Jacobsen during her senior season. She came up just short of the goal last season, seeing 37 shots from beyond the arc go through the net. RVR recently sat down with the youngest Jacobsen to ask why breaking her sister’s record is so important to her. “I wanted a really big challenge,” Jacobsen said, “I watched her (play) growing up, and she hit 3’s, and that’s what I want to do. It’s really important for me to push myself cause that’s one of my major (individual) goals this season.”

Jacobsen recorded four or more made three-pointers four times last season. She scored a career-high 21 points and made a record five three-pointers against the Carroll Tigers in a 58-45 road win last December. Jacobsen and the ADM Tigers varsity girls basketball team begins the 2018-19 competition season this Monday, hosting the Norwalk Warriors in a nonconference contest. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will provide live play by play coverage of the game on True Country K 107.9, starting with pregame comments at 7 p.m. following the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page.
