acgcThe first official practice for wrestlers across the state is Monday. ACGC will begin their third season with the majority of last year’s participants expected to return, particularly in the lower weight classes.

The returnees include 2018 state qualifier Seth Danker. Danker, who qualified at 106 pounds as a freshman, will be looking to become the first Charger to make consecutive trips to “The Well”. Also expected to return are senior standouts Blaine Beeler and Easton Benson. Beeler notched his 100th win last season, but fell short of districts after finishing in 4th at sectionals.

Seniors Ben Kingery and Gabe Rowley are also expected to return to the mats this season. For the second straight year the Chargers will also have an advantage as the Class 1A Section 3 meet will be held at the high school in Guthrie Center. Last year the district round was held in Guthrie Center. The district tournament this season will be at West Central Activities Conference newcomer I-35 in Truro.

The ACGC wrestling team opens regular season competition with a quadrangular at West Central Valley on Thursday, November 29th. The field includes ACGC, the host Wildcats, East Union, and Nodaway Valley.
