A program geared toward fifth through eighth graders in Greene County is happening later this week.

Greene County Extension is offering “Babysitting Basics” on Friday from 8:30am to 3pm at the Extension office. Participants will learn about proper care for younger children, employer expectations, entertaining children of different ages, handling emergencies, and first aid training. Extension Director Lori Mannel says they also bring in a variety of guest presenters.

“We’re very excited that we have the community partners involved. We have public health come and our Greene County Sheriff comes and they are speakers and they offer tips.”

Cost to participate is $40 and lunch will be provided. The fees will go back to the 4-H Youth Development and Families County Extension Program. Call 386-2138 or stop by the Extension office to sign up.
