Two motorists were injured after a collision on Interstate 80 Sunday night in Adair County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 48-year-old Mark Vandenberg of Harlan was driving a Chevy Impala westbound near mile marker 89 when he struck a cable in the median and his vehicle was partially blocking the left lane. Twenty-eight-year-old Nicholas Kern of Atlantic was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer in the left lane and wasn’t able to change lanes. Kern struck Vandenberg’s Impala, causing both vehicles to spin into the cable barriers. Both drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries and one driver was transported to Guthrie County Hospital. Adair County Sheriff’s Office and Menlo Rescue assisted at the scene.
