Greene County is among the schools in the field today at the Lake Panorama Par Three Golf Course for a Class 2A State Qualifying Cross-Country Coed Meet. Panorama is the host school. The top three teams and top 15 individuals in each of the two races advance to State competition on Oct. 27 north of Ft. Dodge on the Lakeside Golf Course at Kennedy Park.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux sees the best chance for advancement from his girls’ team. The Rams have been in the middle of most of their meets. “If all of our girls put together their best race, we’ll have a shot at qualifying,” the coach told Raccoon Valley Radio.

The final rankings from the Iowa Track Coaches Association shows the Panorama girls ranked fifth with Shenandoah number 14. On the boys’ side, Roland-Story (Story City) is ranked seventh, with Des Moines Christian number 12, and Albia fourteenth.

The girls’ race is at 4 p.m. with the boys’ race to follow.
