The postseason is here for the Greene County High School volleyball team. The Rams go to Humboldt for a Class 3A Region 3 first round match with number 12 Humboldt. The 18-4 Wildcats tied for first place in the North Central Conference with Iowa Falls-Alden and Clarion-Goldfield/Dows. Match time is 7 p.m.

Tomorrow is the day for cross-country State Qualifying Meets and Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s Rams go to the Par Three Golf Course at Lake Panorama for a 2A meet. The girls run Thursday at 4 p.m. with the boys’ race to follow. The top three teams and top 15 individuals in each race advance to the Oct. 27 State Meet. The Ram coach told Raccoon Valley Radio the Panorama girls are ranked third and a favorite to win the team title on their home course. He added there are three boys’ teams ranked in the top 15 in the field, so the competition should be good.

The Coach added he feels if all the Greene County girls have a great race, the Rams could be in the hunt. The Greene County boys have been in the lower division in most of their meets this season.
