Perry senior Justin Stammer spent a little time watching film after the first four weeks and the coaches pointed out one simple adjustment to the hard nosed senior. “He was always looking for the homerun and the big run to take it to the house,” stated head coach Matt Hardy. Ever since that film session, Stammer has been a completely different type of running back and the statistics have certainly showed it. The senior is coming off a 77 yard rushing performance Friday night against Webster City and even caught a 71 yard touchdown from Kaleb Olejniczak.
“The more film we watched, the more we noticed he seem to be looking to cut everything outside. Sometimes as a running back you just have to lower the pads and get the most yards, even if its only two or three yards. Those short runs add up and most importantly keeps us on schedule.”
Stammer and the Bluejays will be tested this Friday night when they travel to Carroll to take on the Tigers.
