Perry City Council 8-6

The Perry City Council will convene Monday evening in regular session.

During Mayor and Council comments, Mayor John Andorf will make an official proclamation to endorse the Lights on After School event for Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (PACES) program. Following that, the Council will go over three items relating to the recent crack sealing project, including a change order, pay request, and final acceptance and certificate of completion. Other items in old business include: a pay request for the Willis Avenue bridge project; a supplemental agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation for maintenance and repair of primary roads within Perry City limits; a resolution in support of the City submitting a full application for the Iowa Great Places project; a lease agreement with Hometown Heritage for artwork in City Hall; and appointing a new member to Perry Economic Development and reappointing another.

In new business, the Council will accept the resignation of John Palmer from the Perry Historic Preservation Commission, and consider him for a non-voting associate member position. They will also consider approving an application for a state charitable gambling license, which will allow the City to legally run a raffle game of chance or BINGO for fundraisers. Finally, the Council will go into closed session to discuss real estate transactions. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Clarion Room at Perry City Hall.
