Roundhouse[1]

Bust out your tie dye clothes, bell bottom jeans, and go-go boots for an upcoming event at the Dexter Roundhouse.

The Community House Board is hosting an open mic night jam session this Saturday to raise funds for rehabilitation of the 102-year-old building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The 1960’s and ‘70s is the theme for the event, and with Halloween coming up attendees are encouraged to dress up in those decades’ fashions for a costume contest. First and second place trophies will be given to the male and female contest winners. Sound equipment and a karaoke machine will be provided, but any type of music, comedy, or other entertainment act is welcome to perform. Doors open Saturday at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. A freewill offering is accepted and snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. To sign up to perform or for more information contact Teresa Nolte at 515-473-2425.
