Greene County High School volleyball head coach Chris Heisterkamp reports the Rams split matches Tuesday night against West Central Activities Conference teams. The Rams played twice in Ogden, losing to Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center 21-25, 15-25, then winning vs. Ogden by scores of 25-12, 25-19.

Coach Heisterkamp told Raccoon Valley Radio she didn’t think the match with ACGC demonstrated the Rams’ best effort. “We played way below our potential,” the coach added. “We got a spark back for our second match and played much better against Ogden.”

For the night, Luisa Slompo had 10 kills. She’s a foreign exchange student from Brazil. Lily Muir had eight kills with five by Brianna Ousters and four for Sophia Havens.  Kara Reed went 19 of 21 serving with three aces. Havens had 11 digs and Aubrey Heupel dug the ball eight times.

The Rams are 7-18 in matches and they’ll next play on Saturday in the Winterset tournament to close the regular season. Class 3A Region 3 action begins on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in Humboldt vs. the Humboldt Wildcats.
