The postseason trail leads the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity volleyball team (13-20 overall) south to Madison County this evening. The Class 4A Region 2 opener features the Tigers squaring off against Raccoon River Conference rival Winterset (19-7 overall). The victor of today’s playoff match extends their season to next Tuesday’s regional semifinal contest at No. 6 Bondurant-Farrar (32-2 overall). The Tigers and Huskies met in Adel on September 25 for their annual league match. ADM lost to Winterset in five games (22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 11-15). Since that match, ADM has posted a 5-9 overall record while Winterset’s registered a 4-2 mark. Junior Josi Lonneman is ADM’s all-around leader with a team-best 277 kills and digs. Her 30 aces are second-most on the squad. Juniors Morgan Meyer and Delaney Bertman both have over 240 assists this fall with Meyer leading the way with 252. Tonight’s Class 4A Region 2 opening match between ADM and Winterset serves at 7 p.m. at Mel Penrod Gymanisum.
