acgcThe ACGC football team will wrap up their third campaign in program history tomorrow at Mt. Ayr.

The Raiders come into the game with a record of 6-2, losing only to undefeated I-35 and defending state champion Van Meter. Sophomore quarterback Payton Weehler has accounted for 15 of the team’s 22 touchdowns. Weehler is averaging nearly 110 yards through the air and nearly 70 yards on the ground per game. SIx of Weehler’s eleven passing touchdowns have found the hands of junior receiver Dawson Frost.

As a team, Mt Ayr also has four of the district’s seven return touchdowns, including three kickoff returns by senior Hunter Haveman. While usually not an area of concern for the Chargers,  their special teams coverage was chinked last week as Panorama’s Zach Rizzuti recorded one in the second quarter.

The Raiders enter the final week of regular season play at #14 in the RPI rankings. A win would likely send them to the postseason, but a loss would put them on the bubble to make the field of 16. You can hear the Chargers and the Raiders live tomorrow night on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com. Pre-game coverage from the field begins at 6:30pm, with kickoff set for 7 from Mt. Ayr.
